Open Enrollment Period

To enroll in Ohio Obamacare – you can find the health insurance exchange for Ohio Obamacare at HealthCare.gov. Or you can shop around privately and buy Obamacare from an insurance company. This is how you can learn about the myriads of health insurance options available to you under Obamacare. If you see an Obamacare plan you like, you will be guided through the enrollment process.

It’s important to note that, unless you are exempt –  you have to purchase coverage during the 2017 Ohio Obamacare Open Enrollment Period (OEP), which ended Jan. 31, 2017. Failure to enroll by the deadline could mean you’ll owe a penalty.

The Ohio Department of Insurance (ODI) is the state agency that regulates insurance in the state, the Department is not administering the Ohio Obamacare Affordable Care Act mandated exchange.  The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will be operating the exchange.

Healthcare.gov tells you almost nothing about the Obamacare insurance you are perusing, other than the name of the insurance policies. It includes no links to tell you about deductibles, co-payments, provider networks (is your doctor in the plan?) and so on. And it gives estimates for some policies for which you might not even qualify.
