There are 5 carriers that remain in GA after Cigna, United, and Harken exit at the end of 2016.

georgia-state-capitol-counties-mapGeorgia has chosen to use the federally run health exchange and 478,016 stood at the effectuated enrollment private pans “QHPs.” This was a 5.5 % increase above 452,926 people from the year prior.

There are 4 carriers out of 9 that will exit the exchange at the end of 2016 leaving only 5. Of the remaining Georgia carriers; there will be some rate increases and were requested and approved.

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia – Requested average rate increase is 21.4 %
  • Humana – There coverage area is to be reduced to Atlanta, Columbus, Macon and the Savannah areas with a rate increase request and approval of 67.5 %
  • Kaiser Permanente – Has an approved average rate increase of 17.6%, requested 18%
  • Ambetter, Peach State Health Plan – Requested 7.4% – 8.3%, this depends on whether or not Dental & Vision were included. Average approved increase was 13.7%
  • Alliant – Requested 18%, Average approved rate increase was 21%
