Obamacare Open enrollment period (OEP)
ends January 31, 2020.
If you missed enrolling in a Obamacare health insurance policy by the 2019 OEP, you cannot buy Obamacare Marketplace coverage for 2019 until the next Obamacare OEP.
You can get Obamacare insurance thru the Healthcare Marketplace ONLY during Obamacare open enrollment 2017. Unless you have special circumstances.

If you are enrolled in the 2018 Obamacare Open Enrollment plan, you benefit year will end on December 31, 2018. In order to continue your Obamacare coverage in 2019, you may renew your current health plan or may choose a new health plan through the Marketplace during the 2019 Obamacare Open Enrollment period.
Obamacare Open Enrollment Coverage and dates
During 2019 Obamacare open enrollment, if you decide to enroll between the the 1st and 15th days of a month, your healthcare coverage will begin the first day of the following month. Between the 16th and the last day of a month, your coverage will begin the first day of the second month. For example, if you enroll on May 16, your coverage will begin on July 1st.
You are only allowed to buy Obamacare marketplace insurance outside of open enrollment if you qualify for special Enrollment Period because of a qualifying event such as loss of other health coverage, birth or adoption of a child, or a marriage.

NEW DATES REDUCING OEP TO 45 DAYS
OEP 2020 new dates start November 1, 2019 and end December 15, 2019.
The new Open Enrollment period has been shorted to 45 days reducing the time allowed to change your plans if needed. This means you will need to start earlier when making decisions about your personal healthcare for OEP 2020.
